The Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Human Health and Physical Education is a part of the medical faculty of the I.Gorbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University. Teaching of disciplines is conducted in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English. Educational and methodical work is carried out in accordance with the curricula and the current programs of the I.Gorbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University. The department teaches both domestic and foreign students of the I - II courses in the specialty 227 "Physical therapy, ergotherapy", III - a course on the specialty 227 "Physical rehabilitation", IV course in the specialty 6.010203 "Human health" and in specialty 7.12010001 "Medical business". Students of the I and II courses of medical, dental and pharmaceutical faculties, faculty for working with foreign students and EII nursing, all specialties are engaged in sports sections.

To accomplish the tasks at the university there is an appropriate material base and a highly skilled team of specialists. The sports complex has 2 halls, a game room and a gymnasium (there is a modern electronic display in the halls). The gaming hall is equipped for volleyball, basketball, mini football, tennis and athletics classes, where section sessions of students take place and preparation for participation in competitions, sports events and performances, where students of the secondary school I.Gorbachevskiy Ternopil State Medical University wins victories in honor of our university.

At the base of the sports building, under the leadership of the experienced staff of the department of trainers work 8 sports sections: mini-football, volleyball, basketball, aerobics, track and field athletics, chess, table tennis and tennis. Gym for athletic, rhythmic gymnastics and physiotherapy, a gym equipped with the latest fitness equipment and sports equipment. I.Gorbachevskiy Ternopil State Medical University created all conditions for students to be able to maintain their physical form not only attending physical education classes, but also at leisure.

The gym has modern Swedish walls, which can carry out about 30 physical exercises, 2 exercise bikes, 2 bicycle tracks, 3 athletic simulators for the development of a large group of muscles. In the student dormitories there are sports centers equipped with modern exercise equipment, tennis tables, wrestling pears and other sporting equipment. Under the guidance of sports instructors and medical staff, students have the opportunity to improve their health and improve their physical fitness in a free time.

In the semester, the teachers of the department take an active part in developing new and improving old methodological developments and instructions for students and teachers. A systematic update of information is available on the University's Web portal in the sections "Materials for preparing students for lectures", "Presentations of lectures", "Materials for preparing students for practical classes", the latest information using a large number of drawings, graphs, and video films. In the educational process, the remote test control of knowledge on the Moodle system is widely used, which is effectively used to determine the initial level of knowledge on all subjects. Application of individual rehabilitation programs in the clinic, taking into account the chosen range of exercises and massage in accordance with the regime and the diagnosis, allows students to conduct both therapeutic and recreational activities among patients who are in stationary conditions, as well as to observe them for a long period of time while staying in Bilche-Zolotetsky Regional Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Hospital.
